How We Do It: Redesign

Many of you own jewellery that you would like to change the design of, but are not sure how to go about it. The process will of course depend on your ideas, your existing items, what we can come up with, etc. But here is an example of the process, so you better know what to expect.

PC_Tanzanite_BeforeBefore – A Princess Cut Diamond and a flower made up of Tanzanites ready to be transformed

Evelyn had two rings that she wanted to redesign into one ring. She had an idea that she sketched out for us, and we refined the design and sketched it out according to her stone and finger size.Resetting_ownsketch

Evelyn’s sketch of what she had in mind – a wide ring with the Princess Diamond in the centre

With the design going all the way around the finger, we had to make sure that it would work with E’s finger size, so we measured it so that the design would match nicely at the back.

When the design has been confirmed, we start making the ring in gold – or Silver in some cases. We will then have you down for a fitting/viewing to make sure that everything is going according to plan. During the fitting, we make sure that the size is right. There might also be some minor alterations, such as slimming the band or smoothening edges. Following the fitting, we will set the stones and complete the items in the chosen finish.

Ring_fittingDuring fitting, we make sure that the size is right and that everything else looks the way it is supposed to.

We hope you have a better idea what it is like to redesign jewellery. For more inspiration, see links below.

  1. I would love you to redesign my engagement ring . I have been left my Mother’s engagement and eternity rings and I like the idea of combining all three .
Look forward to hearing from you

    1. Dear Ali,
